Cagayan de Oro



I was very excited to visit Cagayan de Oro, the City of Golden Friendship. So in 2011, as early as January I look for  a cheaper flight bound to this land of golden friendship. I was  booked on December 26, 2011.

It is a ten (10) days vacation. Mind you, I was very eager and excited as the days  come closer. But Typhoon Sendong is way way ahead of me. 

According to the news reports, the whole city is weeping and mourning for the thousand of souls who died caused by Typhoon Sendong.

Instead of merrying, the moment I set my foot in Cagayan de Oro I mourned with them. I will published later in my other sites some of the pictures I took in the aftermath of Sendong.










 The Divine Mercy Shrine in El Salvador, Cagayan de Oro is the first site I visited.

I missed the thrill and fun of the white water rafting adventure. In my frustration I posted this on my blog to remind me that I need to return to this place just to experience the white water rafting, a ones in a lifetime adventure.

This is the picture of the controversial "Torogan House" which I took during my overnight stay in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac Bataan. A Torogan was a symbol of high social status of maranao, a tribal people occupying the land around Lake Lanao situated in the central part of Lanao del Sur.
