Rest And Recreation

THE LEGISLATIVE STAFF AND OFFICERS  OF THE QUEZON CITY COUNCIL, AT THE LAST HOUR, FINALLY DECIDED TO SPEND THEIR LONG OVERDUE  REST AND RECREATION IN  WHITE SAND BEACH PUERTO GALERA, MINDORO ORIENTAL, PHILIPPINES.

I WAS ONE OF THOSE PRIVILEGE STAFF WHO HAD SEEN THE AWESOME BEAUTY OF THIS ISLAND THAT IS AN OPEN SECRET TO FOREIGNERS WHO FREQUENTLY VISITED THE PLACE TO UNWIND AND RECHARGE THEMSELVES FROM THE DAILY ROUTINE OF LIFE.

WHILE WALKING ALONG THE BEACH I HAVE THE RARE CHANCE TO SEE THE SUN ALMOST KISSED THE SEA. I'VE ALWAYS SEEN THIS ON FILMS AND PHOTOGRAPHS. THOUGH MY DIGITAL CAMERA IS NOT SOPHISTICATED COMPARED TO OTHERS BUT I LET IT CAPTURED THIS SCENE WHICH I CALLED SUNSET IN PUERTO GALERA.

THIS IS ONE OF THE AWESOME PANORAMIC BEAUTY THE ISOLATED ISLAND OF PUERTO GALERA OFFERED ITS GUESTS AND VISITORS BEFORE THE PLACE WAS TOTALLY COVERED BY DARKNESS TO START A NEW ACTIVITY IN THE ISLAND WERE DIFFERENT LIGHTS DANCED TO THE TUNE OF MUSIC. PARTY LOVERS LINED IN THE WHITE SANDS DRINKING THEIR FAVORITE WINES AND BEVERAGES.

A PICTURE PERFECT OF WHAT RELAXATION REALLY MEANT TO BE. THIS IS THE WAY YOU SHOULD RELAX. A SACK LOAD OF BURDEN WILL BE BURIED UNDER  AND A DRUM OF PROBLEM WILL BE LIQUEFIED BY THE SALTY SEA.

I JUST SIT ALONG THE WHITE SAND BEACH AND WONDER HOW BLESSED I AM THAT BEFORE THE SUNSET IN MY LIFE COMES I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO BEHOLD THE BEAUTY OF A SUNSET IN PUERTO GALERA.

The "Torogan" - Maranao Royal House

This is the picture of the controversial "Torogan House" which I took during my overnight stay in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac Bataan. A Torogan was a symbol of high social status of maranao, a tribal people occupying the land around Lake Lanao situated in the central part of Lanao del Sur. The province where I was born in 1964 during the Philippine Resettlement Era. My father was among the first settlers in Wao Lanao del Sur, my birth place. History will tell us that this torogan was once the residence of Sultan or Datu in the Maranao Community, The last habitable torogan was declared as a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum of the Philippines.

If you are tired of traffic in Baguio City, why not visit Atok Benguet and hike at Mt Timbak, the 3rd Highest Mountain in Luzon.  It is a different feelings when you reach the peak of Mt. Timbak. As you look down you will see a lot of staircase like plantation. If you love trekking and photography, Mt. Timbak in Atok Benguet is the right place for you. This place is surrounded with scenic spots that you can take as a subject or a background of your photography.

I LIKE TO STAY THERE LONGER BUT I CAN NOT DO SO BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO STAY AND IF IT SAFE FOR ME TO STAY THERE BECAUSE THOUGH I WAS BORN THERE BUT I WAS RAISED IN RIZAL PROVINCE. MY PARENTS WERE AMONG THE EARLIEST SETTLERS IN THIS MUNICIPALITY, TRYING TO BE A PART OF THIS WONDERFUL COMMUNITY BUT DURING THAT TIME ACCORDING TO MY PARENTS ACCOUNT IT IS A NO MAN’S LAND. THE MUSLIMS NATIVE OF WAO RESISTED THE ARRIVAL OF THE CHRISTIANS AND REJECTED THEM TO BE A PART OF THEIR COMMUNITY. A CONSTANT WAR BETWEEN MUSLIMS AND CHRISTIANS ERUPTED THAT RESULTED TO MORE KILLINGS OF
